Freaks: Ten Stories About Power, Claustrophobia, Suffocation and Holding Hands is Pulp's debut studio album, released in 1987. The album showcases a blend of post-punk and new wave influences, characterized by its dark themes and sardonic lyrics. It explores topics such as social alienation and the complexities of human relationships, establishing Pulp's distinctive sound that would evolve in their later works. Although it didn't achieve commercial success upon release, it has since gained a cult following and is regarded as an important precursor to the Britpop movement.
