Painkiller is the twelfth studio album by British heavy metal band Judas Priest, released on September 14, 1990. It is widely regarded as one of the band's best works and a landmark heavy metal album. The album is characterized by its fast tempos, soaring vocals, and the dual guitar harmonies of Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing. It marked a return to form after the more commercially oriented 'Turbo' and is often credited with helping to revitalize the heavy metal genre in the early 1990s.
