Prisoners in Paradise is the fifth studio album by the Swedish rock band Europe, released in 1991. The album continued the band's signature sound, characterized by melodic hard rock and anthemic choruses. While it featured a more polished production compared to their earlier works, it also incorporated elements of AOR and was influenced by the changing musical landscape of the early '90s. The album includes notable tracks such as 'Prisoners in Paradise' and 'I'll Cry for You', which showcase the band's ability to craft emotionally charged ballads alongside their more energetic rock songs. Though it did not achieve the same level of commercial success as its predecessor, 'Out of This World', it has since gained a cult following and is appreciated for its lyrical themes and musicianship.
