British pop legends Spandau Ballet have confirmed that they will reunite for a major comeback tour set to begin later in 2026, marking the band’s first tour together in more than a decade.
The influential group from the 1980s New Romantic movement revealed that all five founding members—Tony Hadley, Gary Kemp, Martin Kemp, John Keeble, and Steve Norman—are expected to take part in the reunion. The tour will represent the first time Hadley has performed with the band since his departure in 2017.
Spandau Ballet last performed together in 2015 following earlier reunion tours in 2009 and 2015. Those reunions eventually came to an end after internal disagreements within the band. Despite the tensions that previously surrounded the group, the upcoming tour suggests the members have reached an agreement to bring the band back together for fans.
The band shared the news publicly through social media, posting a group photo and promising what they described as a “very special tour.” In the announcement, Hadley was quoted as saying simply, “The boys are back in town,” signaling a renewed sense of unity within the group.
Spandau Ballet originally formed in London in the late 1970s and quickly became one of the defining acts of the New Romantic era. Their polished pop sound and stylish image helped them achieve major international success throughout the 1980s.
During their peak years, the band released several hit singles that became staples of the decade, including “True,” “Gold,” and “Only When You Leave.” These songs helped establish Spandau Ballet as one of the most recognizable British pop acts of their generation.
Following years of internal disputes and legal battles over songwriting royalties, the group’s lineup remained fractured for much of the past decade. Hadley’s exit from the band in 2017 appeared to close the door on future reunions at the time.
However, the newly announced tour suggests a major reconciliation has taken place. The band plans to perform a series of shows across the United Kingdom and Europe, with additional details about tour dates and venues expected to be announced soon.
For longtime fans of the band, the reunion offers a rare opportunity to see the original lineup return to the stage together for the first time in years.
