The original lineup consisted of vocalist and guitarist Mary Lorson, bassist and keyboardist Seana Carmody, guitarist and producer Matt Verta-Ray, and drummer, later replaced by various musicians over time. The band gained attention with their 1994 debut album 'Panic On,' which was released on the major label Reprise Records. They were known for their unique sound that blended elements of shoegaze, dream pop, and alternative rock. Following their debut, they released a series of albums throughout the late 1990s, including 'Earth Mover' in 1996 and 'Hello, Boredom!' in 1997.
