Ultramafic

Ultramafic was formed in 2015 in Portland, Oregon, by a group of musicians who aimed to blend elements of post-rock, shoegaze, and ambient music. The band's lineup was initially comprised of lead vocalist and guitarist Alex Mercer, bassist and backing vocalist Jamie Lee, drummer Ethan Cole, and keyboardist Sarah Kim. After a series of local performances and the release of their debut EP in 2016, they gained a dedicated following in the Pacific Northwest. Their sound evolved with the release of their first full-length album, 'Echoes of the Earth,' in 2018, showcasing their signature atmospheric soundscapes and intricate melodies. The band has since toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe, further solidifying their presence in the indie music scene.

Ultramafic draws inspiration from a variety of musical genres and artists. Key influences include the ethereal soundscapes of Sigur Rós, the layered textures of My Bloody Valentine, and the emotive songwriting of Radiohead. Ultramafic has released three studio albums and five EPs as of October 2023.
