Animotion

Animotion is an American synthpop band formed in 1983 in Los Angeles, California. The original lineup consisted of vocalists Martha Walsh and Donny Mojica, along with keyboardists Bill Wadhams and his brother, guitarist and synthesist, Jon Wadhams. The band gained popularity in the mid-1980s with their catchy melodies and electronic sound. They are best known for their hit singles 'Obsession' and 'Let Him Go.' After their initial success, Animotion experienced various lineup changes and disbanded in 1990. They reunited in 1998 and have since performed at various nostalgia-themed concerts and events. Their music remains influential in the synthpop genre.

Animotion's music was influenced by a variety of genres, including new wave, synthpop, and rock. The band drew inspiration from early electronic music pioneers such as Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode, as well as pop music icons of the 1980s like Madonna and Prince. The band's music video for 'Obsession' became a staple on MTV during the channel's early years. In 1998, Animotion reformed with a new lineup and released a new album entitled 'Animotion.'
