Throbbing Gristle

Throbbing Gristle was formed in 1975 in London, England, by Genesis P-Orridge, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Peter Christopherson, and Chris Carter. The band is often credited with pioneering the industrial music genre, blending elements of experimental rock, electronic music, and performance art. Their early work was characterized by the use of unconventional instruments, tape manipulation, and provocative themes. They released their debut album, 'The Second Annual Report', in 1977, which was both critically acclaimed and controversial. Throbbing Gristle disbanded in 1981 but reunited in 2004, releasing new material and performing live until their final show in 2010, shortly before P-Orridge's death in 2020.
