The band originated from the remnants of the band Vallenfyre, which was known for its death-doom style. Strigoi was created to explore heavier and darker musical themes, drawing on elements of black metal, doom, and death metal. The band's name is derived from the Romanian term for a type of vampire or undead creature, reflecting the band's thematic preoccupations with horror and the macabre. Their debut album, 'Abandon All Hope,' was released in 2019, followed by their sophomore effort 'Strigoi' in 2021, showcasing their evolution in sound and lyrical depth.
