Circle Jerks

Circle Jerks is an American punk rock band formed in 1979 in Los Angeles, California. The band was founded by Keith Morris, who was previously the lead vocalist for Black Flag, alongside guitarist Greg Hetson, bassist Zander Schloss, and drummer Lucky Lehrer. They quickly became known for their energetic live performances and their blend of hardcore punk with a sense of humor. The band's debut album, 'Group Sex,' released in 1980, is considered a seminal work in the hardcore punk scene. Over the years, Circle Jerks underwent several lineup changes, with Morris and Hetson remaining the core members. They released several albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including 'Wild in the Streets' (1982) and 'Golden Shower of Hits' (1983), before disbanding in 1995. They reunited in 1999 for a tour and have since performed sporadically, releasing new material and continuing to influence the punk genre.

Circle Jerks were influenced by early punk rock bands such as the Ramones, Sex Pistols, and The Clash. They also drew inspiration from the burgeoning hardcore punk scene, which emphasized speed and aggression.
