Indexi

Indexi was formed in 1962 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was then part of Yugoslavia. The original lineup consisted of Davorin Popović, who was the lead vocalist, along with guitarist and composer Zvonko Špišić, keyboardist and songwriter Dženan Lončarević, bassist and vocalist Fadil Redžić, and drummer and percussionist Mladen Kovačić. The band initially played covers of popular rock songs but gradually shifted to writing their own material, which blended various musical styles, including rock, pop, and traditional Balkan music. They gained widespread popularity in the late 1960s and 1970s, becoming one of the most influential bands in the former Yugoslavia. They disbanded in 1979 following a successful career that spanned nearly two decades, but their music continued to influence later generations of musicians in the region.

Indexi were influenced by various music styles and artists, including British rock bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, as well as American rock and pop artists.
