Beastie Boys

Beastie Boys formed in 1981 in New York City. Initially a hardcore punk band, they transitioned to hip-hop with the release of their debut album 'Licensed to Ill' in 1986, which was the first rap album to top the Billboard 200 chart. The trio, consisting of Mike D, MCA, and Ad-Rock, became known for their eclectic style and humorous lyrics. Their fusion of various genres helped pioneer the rap-rock genre.
