Fightstar

Fightstar is a British rock band formed in 2003 in London. The band was initially established by former Busted guitarist Charlie Simpson, who sought a heavier sound than his previous pop-punk band. Alongside Simpson, the band consists of Dan Haigh on bass, Alex Westaway on guitar, and Omar Abidi on drums. They gained attention with their debut EP 'They Liked You Better When You Were Dead' in 2004, which showcased their blend of post-hardcore and alternative rock. Over the years, Fightstar has experienced lineup changes and hiatuses but has maintained a dedicated fanbase, known for their energetic live performances and emotional lyricism.

Fightstar's music is influenced by a diverse range of genres, including post-hardcore, alternative rock, and metal. They have cited bands such as Deftones, Killswitch Engage, and Thrice as significant influences on their sound. Fightstar has released five studio albums and multiple EPs since their formation. The band is known for their DIY ethic, having produced much of their music independently. Their song 'Hazy Eyes' has been particularly successful, receiving significant airplay on rock radio stations. The band took a hiatus in 2010 but reunited in 2014 to release new music and continue touring.
